Who am I
I am a 4th year curler who curls out of Nutmeg Curling Club in Bridgeport, CT, USA. I have a doctoral degree in applied physics, and have been writing software to support research and engineering for more than a decade.
Why am I doing this
This is a hobby project of mine. I would like to leverage the massive progress made in recent years in the field of computer vision and deep neural networks to:
- Advance our understanding of the physics of curling.
- Use video analysis to make watching curling more enjoyable (stats for nerds?).
- Make curling training more quantitative and science-based.
